Welcome to Jack the Ripper's Asylum! Jack the Ripper In the Autumn of 1888 five prostitutes in an area known as Whitechapel became victims of the killer we now call Jack the Ripper. This is Saucy Jacky's unofficial playground... Check out the discussions, chats, fun and games with like-minded inmates in an attempt to get into the mind and place of Britain's most notorius serial killer... Ha ha. Catch us if you can Mr. Lusk.
Eight little whores, with no hope of heaven, Gladstone may save one, then there'll be seven. Seven little whores beggin for a shilling, One stays in Henage Court, then there's a killing. Six little whores, glad to be alive, One sidles up to Jack, then there are five. Four and whore rhyme aright, So do three and me, I'll set the town alight Ere there are two. Two little whores, shivering with fright, Seek a cosy doorway in the middle of the night. Jack's knife flashes, then there's but one, And the last one's the ripest for Jack's idea of fun.

Concerning the Gaulston street graffiti, one of the policemen (Halse) noted the style of the handwriting and some basic positions, so although it was not photographed, we do have a simple idea of what it was like.

"There were three lines of writing in a good schoolboys round hand. The size of the capital letters would be about 3/4 in, and the other letters were in proportion"

Schoolboy's handwriting. That's it right there. Whoever wrote it didnt finish school; they werent educated enough or didnt feel like writing properly.

Yeah - I find that note really useful! So obviously he either had a poor education or was forced to drop out. I am of the opinion that this probably is Jack's work. I also had a look at the font (look up round hand) and it's quite typical of the writing they taught in Victorian times. Seems like he's got a small amout of education teaching him to write at least, but the grammar is appauling, making me wonder whether he was fully english.

Goes with the French kill prostitutes thing. I wonder if he was even European.

I think he was European. I also think he fitted into the area as well - he was a typically described European with pale skin and dark brown hair. Many of the witnesses described him as Jewish looking, and although some of them could not see the murderer's face, they did hear him speak, so I assume he was accented, with something German sounding like many of the Jewish immigrants who spoke Yiddish.

(LOL, you like the French theory - that makes him kind of a smexy Ripper! xD)

XD YEAH XD

To me, if he was European, and wanted to kill, what better way to do it than to go into another country, where noone knew where he was.

In order to go to another country, you have to have a good bit of money, which goes with the 'he looked upperclassman' bit. I'm starting to think he's Jewish now...

Me too - a lot of it makes sense. I think he came from a family where they had a decent amount of money since he wasn't described as being run-down looking.

Oe I THINK I GOT IT!

He came from a rich Jewish family, either wasnt all that great at school or dropped out, had an affair with a prostitute, got in trouble with his family for it. Had to leave, went to the nearest country with the language he new better than Hebrew *Hebrew or Yiddish?*, *English and England*. Then, frustrated with the whole thing, he started to kill prostititues.

*eye twitches* That make any sense?

That does - I am definately of the opinion that he was from a Jewish family that was well off, and I think he emmigrated with them to Whitechapel and lived there for a few years. I believe his English wasn't great, but I think he must have been living in Whitechapel for a number of years to know the area that well and be able to pick up enough english to 'chat up' the prostitutes. There were a lot of eastern European Jewish families escaping the plight of Russia and anti-semetism in Victorian times, and a great deal of them resided in the Whitechapel area.

^^

But I doubt his family would stand by and let him commit murders.

I don't know if his family knew he was the murderer or not, and if they did know he was, maybe they were the sort to protect him? I've heard of people doing that before with other serial killers.

Like, the batty street lodger story. This takes us back to Aaron Kosminski, where his brother in law sent in a bunch of shirts to the lodging house where the family (who were also well off) had their washing done and one of them had blood saturated on the cuffs and all that. The police interviewed Woolf but he said their was an accident with the person staying with them and was let off. This sounds suspicious to me, like a frantic cover up.

Yeah. They shouldve gone into his story, found out what was true or not.

IKR? Sadly there was so much stuff going on the police couldn't deeply investigate. But it's definately one of the true stories going round. The poor woman was so creeped out (There had been a murder the night before as well) that she told the neighbours straight away!

The police followed it up and saw the shirt themselves, and the woman told the neighbour first because she didn't know what to do. Then the both of them contacted the police.

LOL, Jack should be Jacob the Ripper! xD I found it really interesting seeing that piece of evidence connecting Aaron though - It's one of the strongest pieces of evidence for a particular person out there but it keeps getting overlooked because the woman spoke poor english and at first they thought she was saying the shirt belonged to one of her lodgers.

I know that the woman was German and was married to a sea man. There was no dictation of her religion from what I could see, but you never know, she might have been.

The jews from eastern European spoke Yiddish, which is almost identical to German. Unless you were German yourself, you would hardly notcie a difference.

Yeah, it's the traditional language. I at first thought they spoke Polish or Russian, but no.
